Aimee Mann at The Fillmore May 12
Former Til Tuesday singer Aimee Mann will embrace her appearance Friday night at The Fillmore. This Grammy-winner will be performing her ninth solo album Mental Illness along with her previous hits. Mann’s new album has been played on Rosalie’s Acoustic Sunrise and now listeners can watch Mann perform her folk single “Goose Snow Conce” live in concert!
Magic Giant at Levi’s Lounge May 12
Up and coming folktronica trio Magic Giant will be performing an intimate private concert at Levi’s® Lounge! This energetic band will also play at San Francisco’s The Rickshaw Shop that same night to promote their debut album In The Wind.
The Head and The Heart at Fox Theater May 13
The Head and The Heart along with Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs are headlining Notes and Words. The proceeds for this benefit concert will go to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland. The Head and The Heart will perform songs from their latest album Signs of Light for this great cause.
Tuxedo at The Independent May 13
Duo members Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One of Tuxedo will play their fun good-vibe single “2nd Time Around” off their new album Tuxedo II at the Independent. Tuxedo will definitely perform a second time around as they are playing two nights at The Independent on May 13th-14th. Their song “2nd Time Around” has been featured on My New Song Is Better Than Your New Song.
U2 at Levi’s Standium May 17
In celebration of their 30th anniversary of U2’s fifth album The Joshua Tree, U2 is coming to Levi’s Stadium with special guests Mumford & Sons. Cherish the hits “With or Without You,” “Where The Streets Have No Name,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For“, and so many more from their Grammy- Award winning Album of the Year The Joshua Tree.
Michael Kiwanuka at The Fillmore May 19
Soul- folk singer Michael Kiwanuka will appear on stage at The Fillmore with Cloves. Kiwanuka released his second album Love & Hate and his song has been heard on My New Song Is Better Than Your New Song as Alicia’s choice.
Fenech-Soler at Brick and Mortar Music Hall May 20
Brother duo Fenech- Soler (Ross and Ben Duffy) will play their third album Zilla at SF’s Brick and Mortar Music Hall. This British electropop band has been featured on New Music @ 9.
The Lumineers at Slim’s May 22
KFOG is sending their lucky listeners to Slim’s to watch an intimate acoustic performance of The Lumineers. Enjoy the evening with the indie americana group and a glass of Wente Vineyards’ wine in your hand. Listen for your chance to win a pair of tickets!
Modest Mouse at The Masonic May 27
90s alt-rock band Modest Mouse are coming to The Masonic Saturday night. They’ll be performing songs from their 1996 album This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About and 1997 album The Lonesome Crowded West. As well as their hits “Float On“ and “Dashboard“. The group’s sixth albumStrangers to Ourselves was released in 2015. Modesto Mouse will also make an appearance at Bottlerock on May 26th.
Rodrigo y Gabriela at The Fillmore May 27 – 28
Dynamic acoustic Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will shred their guitars for two nights at The Fillmore May 27th-28th. Experience instrumental rock with deep- rooted Spanish fusion. Rodrigo y Gabriela have performed for a KFOG Private Concert and for former president Barack Obama.
