All eyes on Kevin Durant and Lebron James as the Warriors attempt to sweep the Cavaliers in this year’s NBA Finals. But at one time, the two rivals were teaming up off the court. There have been rumors of a never-been-released hip-hop track, and this week league sources confirmed the two collaborated on it during the 2011 lockout while Durant (who was playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder) was hanging with James (while he was playing for the Miami Heat).
An official snippet of their work was leaked June 5th by Spider Studios. ESPN reports:
When approached about its existence, James and Durant, to a moderate extent, confirmed that there is such a track before bursting out into laughter without further comment.
Both KD and Lebron have shown their love for rap in the past. Durant has been known to produce original beats in his spare time, and James has shown music affinity, even contributing to the success of up-and-coming artists.
Durant and Lebron rap only 2 short lines in the clip, but we’re all ears.
The Warriors are currently up 3-0 in the NBA Finals and Lebron and Durant will face off again Friday, June 9 in Cleveland at 9 p.m. ET.
