Spend that extra hour you gain with Acoustic Sunrise this Sunday! You’ll have time on your hands, and I’ll have time on my mind: I’ll play “Clocks” by Coldplay of course, and Bonnie Raitt’s “Nick of Time”… Sting covering Elton John’s “Come Down in Time”, and the heartbreakingly beautiful “Who Knows Where the Time Goes” with Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson’s early band. We’ll also dip into the KFOG Archives for “Sleep” by Allen Stone (since you get an extra hour of it), and herald the oncoming of darker evenings with Band of Horses and an awesome Springsteen cover by, of all people, John Legend!

It’s music to move to…as in moving all your clocks and digital devices back an hour (at least the ones not smart enough to do it themselves!)
With that extra hour comes extra perks: tickets to 2 terrific shows: Hiss Golden Messenger at the Great American Music Hall this Tuesday the 7th, and John Hiatt & the Goners with special guest Sonny Landreth at the Masonic January 31st. Tie down tickets for sure at Slim’s and on Live Nation. And listen this Sunday in the 7 am and the 10 am hour for a shot at comps!

And, because someone has to do it, and who else but me?!? In honor of the new documentary about “Rolling Stone” magazine (which began its history here in San Francisco) I’ll play a rowdy novelty singalong by Dr Hook and the Medicine Show: “On the Cover of the Rolling Stone”, written by Shel Silverstein. Look out for a young local journalist, Ben Fong-Torres in the doc, which airs Monday & Tuesday on HBO.
