Beer for Breakfast with 21st Amendment Brewmaster Shaun O’Sullivan

San Francisco’s own 21st Amendment Brewery has making making waves in the craft brew scene for over 17 years now with their unique flavor profiles and eye-catching packaging, so Alicia and I jumped at the chance to have them in for our weekly Beer for Breakfast segment on the show.

Joining us was the Brewmaster and co-founder of 21st Amendment Brewery, Shaun O’Sullivan, who is quite an interesting character. Before getting into the beer biz Shaun had many previous trades. He worked as a photojournalist for an LA publication where he covered the city’s vibrant punk scene, and briefly dabbled in news a producer for CNN. After spending time as a paralegal, and deciding whether or not to go to law school, Shaun “traded his suits for boots and was saved by beer”.

Shaun founded 21st Amendment along with business partner Nicco Freccia in 2000 and ever since they have become one of the fastest growing craft breweries in America.

Alicia and I had the pleasure of sampling their Fireside Chat Winter Spiced Ale, which is only available during the holiday season, as well as their delicious Brew Free or Die IPA.

You can visit their brewpub located just a couple of blocks from AT&T Park, or grab a pint at their San Leandro Taproom.
