Typically San Francisco gets all the shine when it comes to Pride Week, but their (cooler) sibling across the Bay has arguably just as many events going on for their Pride Week, which kicks off today. Whether you identify as LGBTQ, or as an ally, there are a ton of awesome events that you should check out around Oakland this week, all culminating in the parade downtown on Sunday.
THURSDAY
Oakland Pride Arts + Film Fest
- A three-act evening, featuring short films, vogue demos, and screenings of the feature films “When the Beat Drops” and “My House.

FRIDAY
Queer First Friday presents: The Official Pride Kickoff Party
- Special release of Love is Love IPA brewed in honor of Oakland Pride
- Live performance by Le Heaux
- resident djs tbale, dj lil sis, and millhøuse
5pm – $3 w/ partial proceeds donated to Oakland Pride
SATURDAY
Kick Off Oakland Pride
- queer hip-hop and club music influenced dance party that features emerging QTPOC artists.

QTPOComedy w/ Sampson McCormick
A fundraiser for the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center featuring Grammy nominated comedian Sampson McCormick, Karinda Dobbins from Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, and Micia Moseley.

SUNDAY
Oakland Pride Parade and Festival
The parade and festival encompass six city blocks of music, art, food, and fun. Parade starts at 10:30AM at 14th and Broadway, and ends at 20th and Broadway. This is a family friendly event with four stages of entertainment with talent from the Bay Area and beyond. Amara La Negra of Love and Hip Hop Miami is set to perform on the main stage. Past performers include Andra Day.
