Florence + the Machine play entrancing ‘Patricia’ on ‘James Corden’

florence welch performs "patricia" on the late late show with james cordon

Florence + the Machine’s High As Hope dedicated track “Patricia” to Patti Smith.

On Tuesday night, the band performed the hypnotic ballad on the Late Late Show with James Corden.

After the set, Florence Welch joined James Corden and 50 Shades of Grey’s Irish Jamie Dornan for an interview. He told the singer that the first time he saw her perform live was her surprise performance of “You’ve Got the Love” at the Guilty Pleasures tent at the U.K.’s 2010 Latitude Festival.

“I don’t remember any of this!” Welch admitted. “Was I in a animal costume?” she wondered (she was).

Of singing lessons, Florence shared, “My teacher told me, ‘If you’re going to be a professional singer, it’s going to be no smoking, no going out late, no talking loudly, no drinking, no drugs…’ and I was like…See ya!”

Catch the performance and interview right here.
