Naomi Watts will be the new face of Game of Thrones.
The actress signed on a lead character for the prequel series, which takes place a thousand years before the current Game of Thrones. It will cover the demise of the Golden Age of Heroes, expose the true origin of the white walkers, uncover Westeros’ history, and trace back the legend of the Starks and Lannisters.
Deadline reports that Watts’ character “will play a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.”
Filming is expected to start in 2019.
