Here we go again.
The Oakland Athletics have put out their newest potential stadium plan. And fans have a lot to say this time.
The project features a rooftop park and 20-story high rises, and an aerial gondola. There are also “preliminary plans (that) include a large park, surrounded by substantial new housing, including affordable housing, a skills center, community gathering space, office and retail developments, and restaurants.” A’s President Dave Kaval told SF Chronicle “Instead of a ballpark that sits like a fortress, this will be open and accessible to the community at all times.”
See how fans and the rest of the Bay Area is reacting to the news below.
A look at the Oakland A’s potential new stadium.👀👀😍😍⚾️⚾️. Only problem I have is that the third picture has them in the 2023 world series. Thats a bold move but also a jynx…#oakland #As #baseball #sports pic.twitter.com/Bz84wz4d5j

@StephenAtHome thought you might like the hobbit holes the Oakland A's have in their new stadium design pic.twitter.com/X8gZitFF7a

The new A’s stadium looks pretty cool. I’m going to assume those are slides in the outfield which would be awesome pic.twitter.com/NAND6ltCOi

Only the A's would literally explain BABIP in a rendering of their stadium. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/knc8TtoUIA

Rendering of the Oakland A’s proposed new stadium. I feel like they turned the controls over to an intern who spent A LOT of time playing SimCity 2000 in his childhood. I keep waiting for a Godzilla to appear from the periphery and crush it. pic.twitter.com/wPiNUdsge2

A tradition unlike any other. An annual A's stadium rendering.

There’s a 500% better chance the Oakland A’s play in the 2023 World Series than having a new stadium.

The best part about the A's new stadium design unveiling is the part where they're calling their shot for the 2023 World Series. pic.twitter.com/08e3d92hXC

Listen, I think the proposed A's stadium is as cool as everyone else, but if you think someone is going to bring a big yellow finger to cheer at the public park that replaces the Coliseum, your thinking is a little ambitious. pic.twitter.com/H8WHnlptBg

TFW the A's decide on a stadium site that's not near a BART stop. pic.twitter.com/6h9kDHRAym

The article claims it's "a deliberate throwback to the turn-of-the-century diamonds like Philadelphia’s Shibe Park (a.k.a. Connie Mack Stadium) where the A’s once played."
Uhhhhhh… that resemblance is where, exactly? Shibe Park didn't look like the deck of a cruise ship pic.twitter.com/TXzQoY8rAK— Emily – #LeiperTheBest (@JaysGirlEmily) November 28, 2018
