It’s a surprisingly full week of good shows around the Bay this week. Typically things start to slow down this time of year, and while there might not be any major headliners in town this week, there are still a number of awesome shows in town.
The week kicks off with industrial pioneers Nine Inch Nails taking over the Bill Graham Civic for two nights alongside shoegaze legends The Jesus and Mary Chain. The moody 80’s aesthetic continues into the rest of the week with Echo & the Bunnymen rolling through the Masonic, up-and-comers Pale Waves, who ooze 80’s influence invading August Hall, and one of the forefathers of 80’s-style hypnagocic pop John Maus at the Great American Music Hall.
The rest of the week gets more diverse musically with singer-songwriter Shakey Graves at the Fox in Oakland, Columbian alternative dance duo, and my pick of the week Bomba Estereo poised to tear the roof off of the Fox on Friday, Swedish indie-pop hit makers Peter Bjorn and John playing the Independent, and raucous punk icons Dead Kennedy’s wrapping up the week at the UC Theater.
