The best nachos in America have been named.

Lucky for us, one of the elite 21 spots went to a joint in our own backyard. Velvet Cantina in The Mission not only does nachos right, they do them interesting. Their housemade tortilla chips layered with chile con queso, black beans, sour cream and guacamole are balanced perfectly with spicy chorizo, setting it apart.

But it’s their late-night-nachos that really put them over the top. That’s right – dessert nachos are a thing. Their s’mores nachos, with cinnamon, sugar, Mexican chocolate, melted and charred marshmallow over crushed graham crackers, are a sweet and interesting alternative we’re willing to give a shot. Twist our arms.
