Easter Around the Bay: Egg Hunts, Parades, and More!

Easter is this Sunday and there’s tons to do this weekend with the family! We’ve made a short list of cool things to check out and explore around the Bay. What are you waiting for? Hop to it!

 

Alameda

Downtown Easter Egg Hunt 

Where: Downtown Alameda

When: Saturday April 20, 11am – 2pm

What: Bring a basket and hunt for eggs! Businesses will be participating in this event with free treats and activities. There will be a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny and a chance for kids ages 12 and under to decorate a goodie bag to fill with candy! Sweet!

Easter Festival 2019 

Where: Alameda South Shore Center

When: Saturday April 20, 12pm – 3:15pm

What: This event is perfect for the whole family! There will be face painting, glitter tattoos, games, and tap dancingEaster Bunnies! That’s right! A special performance by The Tap Dancing Easter Bunnies will be happening at 3:15. Don’t miss out!

Berkeley

Spring Egg Hunt Extravaganza and Carnival 

Where: Willard Park

When: Saturday April 20, 9:30am – 1pm

What: The City of Berkeley states, “The day will be filled with tons of fun activities, including a petting zoo, a visit with the Spring Bunny,  spring-themed arts and crafts, an interactive kid’s carnival with fun prizes and Bunny Hop dance lessons!” Each age group has their own egg hunt times, so make sure to get there early and register for the right group.

Naturally Dyed Eggs at the UC Botanical Gardens

Where: UC Botanical Gardens

When: Two sessions available: 10am – 11am, 12:30pm – 1:30pm

What: Unleash your creativity with natural dyes from plant-based color! Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Plus, the registration fee includes Garden admission. Go check out all the beautiful plants and flowers after dying your eggs!

Cost: $18, $15 for members

 

Campbell

Bunnies and Bonnets Parade & Easter Egg Hunt

Where: Campbell Community Center

When: Saturday April 20, 9am – 11pm

What: Enjoy the 21st annual Bunnies and Bonnets Parade with marching bands, dancers, local groups and more! The Egg Hunt kicks off at 10:30 am sharp. This event features 16,000 eggs, 6 jump houses, and a DJ, and the Easter Bunny himself!

Foster City

Easter Sunday Egg Hunt

Where: Leo J. Ryan Park

When: Sunday April 21, 11:30am – 2pm

What: Hosted by Gold Medal Martial Arts, this free event will be fun for the whole family! Egg hunt and activities abound!

Fremont

Rabbit Rendezvous at Ardenwood

Where: Ardenwood Historic Farm

When: Saturday April 20, 10:30am – 11am

What: Come learn all about rabbits! Like why they’re such great hoppers and how they use their ears to sense danger. No registration required.

Cost: FREE

 

Oakland

Jumpin’ Bunny Festival 2019

Where: Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate

When: Saturday April 20, 10am – 3pm

What: The event states you can expect “jumpers for all ages, egg hunts, games, entertainment, face-painting and crafts; as well as, petting zoo, Mansion tours, gift shop, food, entertainment by Prescott clowns, tap dancing bunnies and the celebrated appearance of the Bunny himself!” So much to do!

Bunny Weekend at Children’s Fairyland

Where: Children’s Fairyland

When: Saturday April 20 & Sunday April 21, 10am – 4pm

What: There’s already so many cool things to check out at Oakland’s famous Fairyland, but this weekend enjoy Critters By The Bay’s walk-around bunny characters! Special events are free with admission.

Cost: $12, free for Fairyland members

 

San Jose

The Hoppening: Easter Egg Hunt at the Winchester Mystery House

Where: Winchester Mystery House

When: Saturday April 20, 10am – 12pm

What: The world’s most bizarre, mysterious Easter egg hunt! 5,000 eggs and 13 golden surprise eggs will be hidden in the beautiful mansion’s Victorian Garden. The egg hunt starts at 10:30 with a bounce house and sweets to enjoy before the festivities. Plus, snap a pic in the Easter Photo Booth!

San Francisco

Union Street Easter Parade and Celebration

Where: Union Street – Gough to Fillmore

When: Sunday April 21, 10 am – 5pm, Parade at 2pm

What: The 28th Annual Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade is described as “wonderful, wacky, elegant and fabulous.” There will be tons of activities for kids and an Easter Bonnet decorating contest. Not to mention photos with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, Faerie Garden and more! Fun for the whole family!

The St. Regis Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch

Where: The St. Regis San Francisco

When: Sunday April 21, 10am – 2pm

What: Mmm! Easter Brunch! Bring your family and enjoy a meal, photos with the Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt this Sunday. There will be hot chocolate and pancakes to devour while the hunt is going on, plus an Easter Basket after brunch for all ages! Yum!
