“There goes my cyber security, watch it as it goes…”
Maybe you’re a huge fan of Blink-182, Foo Fighters, or Green Day. Maybe you’ve even used one of those band names as a password for internet-related purposes. If that’s the case, you should definitely change it as soon as possible.
Recently, a “global password risk list” was released by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre and some of the most vulnerable and commonly hacked passwords happen to be band names. Among Blink-182, Foo Fighters, and Green Day the list also includes Metallica, Slipknot, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Sum 41. Mark Hoppus even chimed in and tweeted a link to the list:
