It’s been seven years since The Hives have released a full-length album.

The track ‘Blood Red Moon’ came out in 2015, but it was specifically recorded for the Swedish movie Cirkeln (The Circle). Yesterday, however, The Hives debuted their new single ‘I’m Alive’.

Of the track, frontman Pelle Almqvist explained, “I’m Alive is a song about crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance that sounds like crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all existence because it is a band crawling up from under a rock and obliterating all resistance.”

Woah. Deep.

A new album is expected to be out in 2020.
