Have we been saying Walt Disney’s name wrong this entire time?

Recently it was pointed out that the town of Celebration, FL which the Walt Disney Company helped develop near Disney World, didn’t use spellcheck when building a fountain on the premises. Instead of “Walt Disney World”, the fountain reads “Wald Disney World”.

Completed in 1996, the typo has gone unnoticed for more than a decade. The town is currently working to correct the “Wald” typo in addition to another misspelling of “Captiva Island” as “Captativa Island”.
