Oakland On The Way to Becoming Second City In US to Decriminalize Psychedelic Mushrooms

Oakland may be joining Denver soon in the quest to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms.

Committee chairman Noel Gallo is pleading for law enforcement to focus police efforts elsewhere. Gallo is hoping that people will stop being investigated and prosecuted for using these drugs. This would only apply to fungi/plant-based psychedelics and not synthetic drugs.

Gallo stated, “We want to be able to tell our police department we have other priorities that are more serious, let’s focus on that and leave our community alone when it comes to trying to take care of our medical needs through native plants.”

Gallo went on to say that he’s here to support people who use natural plants not only for physical needs, but mental needs as well.

So far, three committee members have approved.
