SFMOMA Gets Spooky: Movie Series Exhibit ‘Haunted!’ Coming This Summer

Do you consider yourself a horror fanatic?

If you answered yes, this SFMOMA exhibit is just for you!

Modern Cinema: Haunted! will be exploring Gothic tales written by women. The SFMOMA site details the event as, “gothic classics adapted to film from Wuthering Heights to Frankenstein to The Haunting, as well as fresh takes on gothic storytelling in films that push or upset the conventions of the genre such as The Babadook and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.”

They add that this season’s Haunted! “spans more than eighty years of gothic cinema culled from literary classics and exemplary screenwriting efforts by women, making  its rich cinematic legacy and influence on contemporary filmmaking ripe for celebration.”

Tickets are $10 for members/$12 general and runs from July 18 – August 31.
