Mornings on KFOG host Arthur chats with local neXt2rock finalist Overland. With five years underneath their belt, Martinez’s Overland is an alternative rock band for those who love classic rock.Their songs are packed with dynamic textures that are reminiscent of the great progressive and atmospheric bands from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Through mighty riffs, slow-burning ballads and fast-moving strummers, Overland is unafraid to lead you on an arduous musical journey.

The band has played many venues and stages, opening for bands like The Stone Foxes, Fritz Montana and The Sun Pilots. With aspirations of traveling, Overland hopes to share their music with the world and entered the neXt2rock competition to help spread their passion and take the next step forward. “We’re just excited to have people give us a chance” adds Jeramie Busse.

Overland is currently headed back into the studio to record some new music. The neXt2rock local finalist will be announced on November 21st, and the top five nationally voted best bands will take the stage on December 12th at the iconic Viper Room in Los Angeles. The winner will receive a deal with Big Machine/John Varvatos Records and radio airplay..and be named neXt2rock.
