Best shows in the Bay Area this week: Smashing Pumpkins, Marcy Playground, and more

By Olivia Bee via BB Gun Press

This week is steeped heavily in nostalgia with several iconic acts from the 80’s and 90’s rolling through the area this week, including Smashing Pumpkins, Marcy Playground, 10,000 Maniacs, Blind Melon, and Flock of Seagulls.

If you’re looking for something a little more contemporary, Rodrigo y Gabriela have two shows in the area, internet sensation and bubblegum psych-rock superstars Let’s Eat Grandma (best band name ever by the way) hit the Rickshaw, and local favorites Alive & the Breakfast Pigs celebrate their album release at the soon-to-close Hemlock Tavern.
