Arthur and Danica do Spam & Cheese Hotpockets, Lomi Lomi Guacamole, and more at Mission Street’s Outer Orbit

Outer Orbit is the newest addition to the Mission Street food scene, and it’s cornered the market on adult and kid-friendly fun in the already diverse restaurant lineup with a new spin on a pinball arcade.

Self-described “pinhead” owners and couple Chirstian Gainsley and Elisabeth Kohnke have been planning for years to combine a bar with the fun of an arcade and Gainsley’s native Hawaiian roots. And the wait was certainly worth it.

Chef Sam DeCamp has created a menu you truly can’t get anywhere else. For extremely reasonable prices, you can sample Guava-smoked pork, housemade spam, loco moco, and maladadas, the latter two during brunch. Adults have a wide selection of rotating beers on tap and by the bottle, wines by the glass and bottle, and brunch POG (pineapple, orange, guava) mimosas to choose from, while kids have a small menu to order from before hitting the pinball arcade or selecting a track from the jukebox.

On this episode of Buzzed Bites, a sauced Arthur and sober Danica sample some of the best dishes on the small bites menu, including the fantastic Lomi Lomi Guacamole, rich Mac Salad Croquette, Musubi with perfect sticky rice, and the upgraded Spam & Cheese Hotpocket. Arthur pairs his meal with a fantastically smooth Ginny and The Giant Peach sour beer, one of twelve on-tap brews, that pairs excellently with the menu. Check out their visit to Outer Orbit above. We give you three guesses who wins pinball.
