This week in Bay Area music it’s all about up and comers and blasts from the past.
DREAMERS, Wild Nothing, Men I Trust, and SWMRS – all indie rocks acts at various stages of the aforementioned “up and coming” category come to the Bay Area this week. Indie/Psych/Electro weirdos Black Moth Super Rainbow bring their odd take on experimental music to Cornerstone Brewery in Berkeley.
The “blasts from the past” category include some serious heavyweights including: punk/emo pioneers Jawbreaker who will have three different comedians, Kate Willet (Netflix), Clare O’Kane (Vice), and Jessica Sele (Viceland), with SF roots opening their three shows at The Fillmore this week. 80’s new wave legends Simple Minds hit the Masonic on Thursday, while Black Flag front man Henry Rollins makes his way to the Herbst Theater for his “slideshow” a special intimate performance centering around various photos he has taken while traveling over the past several decades.
On Saturday Singer/songwriter Mat Kearney comes to Wente Vineyards in Livermore as part of their Make Time for Wine series where you can pair an afternoon of wine tasting and dining with a special early show.
