Best in the Bay this week: Sir Sly, Rex Orange County, Robert DeLong and more

Via Paradigm Talent Agency

This week in Bay Area music it’s all about the up-and-comers.

LA-based indie rockers Sir Sly hit the Fillmore on the strength of two hit singles, “High” and “&Run.” That shows gets even more exciting as indie stalwarts Joywave join them on the co-headlining bill. Tuesday night brings one of my new favorite bands, Khraugbin to The Catalyst in Santa Cruz. The psychedelic Thai-funk trio by way of Houston is well worth the drive over 17.

Thursday is the best day of the week with indie-pop/neo-soul star Rex Orange County opening a two-day stint at The Regency Ballroom, local favorites and funk masters Con Brio open for Blues Traveler at the Warfield, and former Oakland based indie band WHY? return to the Bay for a special 10th-anniversary celebration of their seminal album Alopecia. Rounding out the week, electronic musician/singer-songwriter Robert DeLong opens up for the hugely popular AJR at the Masonic.
