Things are starting to pick up and the stacked lineup this week is a testament to just that.

The New Parish in Oakland celebrates it’s 10-year-anniversary with a week with shows from prominent Oakland artists including hip-hop pioneers Too $hort and Souls of Mischief as well as the one and only Fantastic Negrito, who is fresh off his second Grammy Nomination for last year’s Please Don’t Be Dead. He’ll play two shows at the venue this week, although there are only tickets still available for Tuesday’s show.

Miami based indie-funk band Magic City Hippies roll through town Wednesday for a sold out show at The Independent, but you can still get tickets via re-sale sites. Also on Thursday: indie-rock heavyweights Real Estate open up a three-night residency at The Chapel in San Francisco. Again, all the shows are sold out, but tickets can be found on re-sale sites.

On Saturday, indie-rock up-and-comers Hippo Campus play The Fox in Oakland alongside indie vets Now, Now. Indie-pop duo The Lemon Twigs play Slim’s Saturday night in support of the recent album. And lastly, psychedelic-pop band Sugar Candy Mountain brings their unique sound to The Ritz in San Jose Saturday night.
