Stand-up comedian Tom Papa may have inadvertently morphed into the true definition of a Renaissance Man.

The longtime veteran of the big and small screen Tom wrote his first book last year Your Dad Stole My Rake: And Other Family Dilemmas, which went on to become an Amazon Best-Seller for the year, continued his work as head writer and host on NPR’s Live From Here, toured the world performing stand-up, and how he turned his hobby of baking sourdough bread at home intro a new show on Food Network. We haven’t even got to the collaboration with Rob Zombie yet.

Tom sat down with me before his shows this weekend at Cobb’s Comedy Club to talk about his foray into the baking world and his show Baked, where Food Network sends him all around the country to find the best baked goods and discover how “local bakeries make life a little sweeter”.

Tom also updates me on the status of the haunted house he lives in, which we verified with video proof last time we chatted, and talks about his role in the upcoming Rob Zombie movie Three From Hell.

Check out the full interview below and make sure you catch Tom while he’s in town this Friday and Saturday at Cobb’s Comedy Club.
